Written for the exam you'll actually take

The Registry changed its test plans in July 2024, and clinical judgment is now the biggest part of the AEMT and Paramedic exams. Our practice exams follow the same breakdown as yours.

Made by paramedic educators

Created by Paramedic Educators for EMS students. Questions a Nationally Registered Paramedic has individually reviewed and approved are marked in the app.

Explanations you can learn from

Every question explains the right answer, and every wrong option gets a line on why it's wrong, with the guideline behind it.

You are ventilating an unresponsive patient with an oral airway in place when they begin to gag and reach for their mouth. You should

  1. Ahold the airway in place until they settle
  2. Bremove the oral airway and be ready to suction
  3. Ctape the airway to prevent removal
  4. Dinsert a second airway for stability
Show the answer

B. remove the oral airway and be ready to suction

A returning gag reflex means the patient is regaining protective reflexes, and forcing the airway to stay in risks vomiting and aspiration. Removal with suction ready respects the change and often signals improvement worth noting.

Questions

Is this the official NREMT exam?

No. EMS Registry Ready is an independent study tool, not affiliated with or endorsed by the National Registry. We write every question ourselves, based on the National EMS Education Standards and weighted the way the Registry's test plan is for each level.

What can I do for free?

You get a free sample of 272 questions, about one in ten from each level, covering every topic and question type. You can answer up to 15 a day, and you don't need an account.

Does one plan cover every level?

Yes. Every plan covers EMR, EMT, AEMT and Paramedic, so you can move up a level without paying again.

Can I study without a signal?

Yes. Once the app has loaded it keeps working without a signal, and with a plan the full question bank is saved on your device.

What's the difference between the plans?

Monthly renews every month until you cancel. 120-Day and Lifetime are one-time purchases, so there's nothing to renew or cancel.

Who writes the questions?

Created by Paramedic Educators for EMS students. Questions a Nationally Registered Paramedic has reviewed and approved are marked in the app. If something looks wrong, tap Report on the question and it comes straight to us.
